Werweran Kinse, Mangaldan, Pangasinan

- circuit race
- 10 rounds; 18km/ round; 180kms
February 29, Friday. Two days before Werweran 15, Lloyd and I went to Binalonan on our bikes. We needed the extra kilometers of training before the race because we were not able to train for some time. We rode nice and slow. It was about 200kms ride from Manila to Binalonan. It was already late in the afternoon when we arrived in Elmo’s house because we were too slow hehehe.
The next day, Saturday, we went to San Fabian, where a winner take all was usually held. When we arrived, the take all was postponed because of the race on the following day. We then had a fast swapping about 100km ride to Damortis with other cyclists.
March 2, Sunday. Race day. We went to Mangaldan early in the morning to register and to watch the different categories. Our category started at exactly 1 PM. Kaya napakainit ng tagpo hehehe. I really lack training so my strategy was to stay in the group. But I was left at the back of the group because of the very fast start. While at the back, I studied the group and look for ways to get in front without exerting too much effort and wasting myself. I knew I don’t have the endurance. I was left even further behind, in the fourth group. I managed to slowly move my way up front until the last 2 laps but I was really wasted. Bumigay na ang legs ko. Kulang talaga. In the last lap, realizing I don’t have any chance to catch up with the breakaways, I abandoned.
Pitaki boys Reynaldo Navarro, Ericson Obosa, and Merculio Ramos took the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.
