Black Saturday Ride With The Executives

Last April 7, Black Saturday, I, Lloyd and Sir Ernie were waiting for the rest of the group at Burger King, Marcos Highway. It was a quarter past six in the morning. Taro invited me and Lloyd again and informed us that the meeting time will be at 0615, and they would be willing to wait til 0616! Pero naunahan na naman namin sya…. hehehe. Around 0630, the group of around 15 riders from different teams was complete. The executives were from QCCC – Pacific Internet, IDA, Excellent, All Terra, Wheel Mobile, and Fitness First. Some of us were PCN groupmates. We were going to Pagsanjan, a 200 km ride, to eat binalot sa kanilang suking kainan. At syempre secondary objective na rin ang training for upcoming races. Hehehe….

The group went up to Antipolo, down to Theresa, passing through Morong and Pililia before climbing to Bugarin, where we passed by our PCN groupmate, Edward. We went down to Mabitac, passing through Famy, Pakil, Paete, Kalayaan, and finally reaching our destination, Pagsanjan, in Laguna. We ate our lunch of binalot na kanin at itlog na maalat sa dahon ng saging. Sarap! We were joined by some cyclists we picked along the way. After having our lunch, and refilling our bottles, picturan na kami! At syempre, banatan na on the way back. The group was divided sa pag-akyat pa lang ng Tubo in Kalayaan. The first group were fast, kaya hinatak naming dalawa ni Lloyd ang nasa likod until the group were together again before the climb in Mabitac. Lloyd and I set the pace on the climb at around 25 – 28 kph. We then had a stop in Bugarin kila Manang to wait for the others, have our drinks and water refill.  On the way home, medyo nagkakabanatan pa din pero medyo groge na kaya hirap na umahon ng Teresa. After the climb, we had an easy ride all the way home. At the rate the executives were training, marami pa silang mga pahihirapan na mga mas bata sa kanila. Thanks for the invites!
