The Boss Is Moving Up!

Buknoy is my 4-year-old kid look alike! Hehehe…. Parang pinagbiyak d ba? But unlike daddy, he has a very strong personality for his age (mahiyain kasi talaga ako hindi lang halata….hehehe). He is a stubborn boy that will drain every ounce of patience you have. At bumait pa sya since he went to school. He started to attend school at age 3, and I clearly remember how relieved his mommy was when the owner of the school answered her query positively about non-expulsion of students with extreme naughtiness. My wife gained some confidence, when she learned that the teachers, the consultant, and even the owner were from the same college as hers. It is good to know that we can leave our son to a school run by people we can really trust.
During the first couple of weeks, Buk was very unruly. His mommy even heard his classmates telling their parents that he is the boy na nangaaway. But, he adjusted quickly, and eventually enjoyed going to school so much that he doesn’t want to miss it even when his sick. He insisted to be called Victor in school. Oo nga naman, after all, he has a reputation in school. He learned a lot academically, and enhanced his passion for books. He likes to read a lot. Pero madaldal sa klase. He is very eager to tell a story in class about his idol Schumacher and Alonzo (he is a big fan of F1 racing, and hates Raikonnen), about my spills and wounds, and about Tour de France and his daddy’s friends Tonton Susanto, Wong Kam Po, Mizbani, Armstrong, Ivan Basso and O’ Grady. Nagtanong tuloy and teacher kung kasali ako sa TdF. Hehehehehe……sana lang!
Marami ng kunswelo sa anak ko. It became my past time to read his teacher’s home notes and assessment report. Nakakatuwa rin na tignan ang mga projects, and to watch him write his name. He amazed me on how well he can sight read. Marami na syang natutunan even he often answered playing when asked what he did in school.
After 9 months of attending school, and gaining the throne in one of the corners at the back of his classroom where he spend numerous time-outs, Buk has finally moved up last Saturday. It is an activity marking the end of school year. I missed it for a very important engagement, but able to watch every second of it on video. And now, he performs with full confidence on stage with a huge audience. He is beeming with pride as he accepts his certificate on stage with his mommy. He has an award for the most improved behavior and social skills. He is very pleased that everybody is treating him as a big boy at nagyayabang pa na hindi na sya dumedede. He is very excited to move up to 4’s and 5’s class. One year down, 16 years to go. Buti na lang masipag magaral. Sana hindi magbago. Many thanks to my wife for her unconditional support and understanding my chosen career. Thank you also for the nice photos and videos.
Congratulations Kuwa Victor!
